Who is Versus?
Versus was born out of the idea that there is a better and more connected way to think about content. The company’s name is a statement to our clients and the industry. We are versus the broken and inefficient model that puts the bottom line above top creative.

What made you take the leap to start your own business?
Today’s market is heavily saturated with content, but very little of it is meaningful enough to cut through the noise. We saw a need for a business to provide brands with culture-defining content, which is where the idea for Versus came from.

What is the biggest challenge you have encountered
Running a business, you can be so focused on the tasks at hand that regardless of the amount of research you put in, there’s always more to learn. I reached out to others in the space to create my own pseudo board of directors. Their input helped get the business on track for meaningful growth.

Piece of advice you wish you had known when you first started?
Don’t be afraid to show your true colors. Being different will help you stand out. You started your journey because you felt you could provide something unique and authentic, don’t feel you need to keep in line to make everyone comfortable with what you are offering.

How has your business or industry been impacted by the pandemic?
There was a seismic shift at the onset and many projects were put on hold. Adapting has been a moving target – once we thought we understood the situation, things changed. But we are nimble and adaptable – during COVID, this meant getting creative with shoots, adjusting to working from home and more.

What does being an Entreprenista mean to you & what have you achieved recently that you want to celebrate with the community?
It means supporting and promoting women in business. We experienced a period of rapid growth during the pandemic; I’m proud of our team for weathering the storm. We made several key hires during this time, including a new CMO and two powerhouse women that I am psyched to work with.
